How shall the Options be set to secure that really every difference between 2 layers are shown for really large boards?

In earlier Gerber views we have had the possiblity to do a compare in a user selected area, is this possible in FAB3000, if not do you plan to add such a feature?

Yes, you will use the options:  "Assign to Group A" and "Assign to Group B".  Please view the following movie tutorial (with no sound) to show this feature.

Note: You can also use the "Clipboard" to copy a certain section of the pcb to a new job and then compare it.

1. Select the section of the PCB you want to compare.
2. Go to menu:  Edit | Clipboard | Copy to Clipboard
3. Create a new job. Go to menu:  File | New | Job..., and assign a job name.
4. Paste the clipboard items, go to menu:  Edit | Clipboard | Paste...

Now you can run the "difference" boolean engine on just a small section of the PCB.

Note:  Yes we will add an option for "Display only" in the boolean engine.  This will allow you to zoom into the area you want to view the difference, and then the boolean engine will only use those features. I expect it to be in the next release.

Note:  For the fastest way to graphically compare the differences between layers, go to menu:  Info | Graphical Comparison | between Layers...
We have just purchased a license of FAB3000 V5.3.8 and have some problems concerning the option "Tools/Boolean wizard/Difference". How shall the Options be set (Ouput Polygones, Tile Engine, Max. polygon verticies) to secure that really every difference between 2 layers are shown for really large boards?

For the most accurate and fastest difference method please use the following settings:

A. Go to menu: Tools | Boolean Wizard | Difference...
B. Select each layer that you want to compare, and click next.
C. Use these options:
Output Polygons = "As Triangles"
Tile Engine = "Automatic"
Maximum Polygon Vertex = 32765

This will give you the optimum speed and performance for the "difference" boolean engine.
