Does Fab 3000 import aperture lists automatically? I just tried importing some 274D files and it would not read in the aperture list.

Yes, FAB 3000 does read aperture lists (about 40 default), and then it has the Aperture Rules Wizard to allow it to load any aperture file.
Here's a 4 minute tutorial I created on YouTube showing exactly how to create an Aperture Rules File:

If you want to share your aperture rules files with others, it's easy. The Aperture Rule file are stored in the folder
...\Fab3000\aptrules
(A) You can either copy the file directly from there and distribute it, or
(B)
1. Start FAB 3000, and go to menu: Setup | Aperture Rules...
2. Press Button "Export Rules File...", and select the location for the Aperture Rules file.
To allow someone else to load your aperture list into FAB 3000, so it can be used try either:
(A) Copy the file directly into the folder ...\Fab3000V6\aptrules
 or
(B)
1. Start FAB 3000, and go to menu: Setup | Aperture Rules...
2. Press Button "Import Rules File...", and select the Aperture Rules.
3. Press Button Save, and that's it.
