Rotated Home Base creation for SMT Stencil (on a circular PCB)

Thanks again for sending the sample file.

Note:  When SMT pads are drawn with a series of lines or hatch patterns, my first recommendation would be to convert pads to Polygons (i.e just the outside boundary). Use either command, menu:  Tools > Convert To > Polygon  or   menu: Tools > Merge Objects..

Here's a tutorial video (no sound) showing me perform Homebase Pad conversion using FAB3000,

Here's the basic steps I performed in the video:

1. Select Pad-Pair (consisting of 2 polygons) and go to Homebase Pad Conversion.
2. Review the Homebase Pad settings.  Make sure to set Search to 0.01 Degrees  (so FAB3000 looks for those rotated matches every 1/100 degree).
3. Convert to Homebase.

Pad size-compensation - suggestions:
  • Homebase Pad Conversion has a Compensation setting (which alters the pad sizes).
  • Etch Factor command also can enlarge/reduce any object sizes. (Menu:  Fabrication > Etch Factor)

Thanks again!

Best regards,

Simon
