Convert legacy DXF files to Gerber?

Thanks again for sending the sample files.  I understand these may be legacy DWG files that are setup great for documentation purposes, but not necessarily for conversion to Gerber data and then to PCB manufacturing.

The main issue is the PCB tracks/traces are outlined with missing edges - preventing them from being closed and filled when converted to Gerber.

Here's our DXF/DWG conversion guide, https://www.numericalinnovations.com/pages/dxf-dwg-conversion-secrets-for-gerber-gds-ii-odb-etc

With all that being said, this DWG can be converted to Gerber and NC Drill - but will probably take an hour or two extra for all the cleanup required, plus mirror and align bottom layers back, drawing appears to be scaled 2X, and should be scaled down to 1X.

If these DWG's are just a one-time situation using old legacy PCB files, then I would recommend using a DXF conversion service to create the Gerber files - they will most likely charge a significant editing cost.

If this is something your company wants to be able to do in-house, here's an example of what the cleanup looks like and afterwards ACE will work fine to convert the Gerbers, https://support.numericalinnovations.com/support/discussions/topics/14000003310

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Simon
