FAB3000 - Startup Problem

Hello Simon,

I have a problem regarding opening of the FAB3000 - last version.

I have installed new version a few days ago and till today worked fine, but then suddenly something happened, I don't know what, but when I have closed one of my jobs, the layer list stayed on the display. Than I have tried to restart the program but,...nothing (see attached picture) what is on pop-up.

I have also tried to install older version of FAB, but still the same.

I didn't tried to fully uninstall the FAB, because I don't want to loose all my setups in the program.

Please help, what can I do.

Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for contacting support.

Each time FAB3000 is started, it needs to create a folder in your Windows Temporary folder (this is required every release of FAB) - so I don't believe this error message has anything to do with your recent update.

Note: I also noticed in the message box the "folder location" was complete blank - which tells me this is perhaps a permission issue - i.e FAB was unable to create the folder:   %temp%/fab3000temp

Please try any of the following (below) to determine which works for you:

  • Run as Administrator:
  1. "Right-Click" the FAB3000 icon and select "Run as Administrator".
  2. If FAB starts up then you're fine.

  • Clear the Windows Temporary folder (DIY method):
  1. Press WINDOWS ⊞ + R keys together to open the 'Run' dialog.
  2. Type %temp% and press ENTER. This opens the 'Temporary Files' folder.
  3. DELETE all temporary folders starting:   fab3000temp*
  • Clear the Windows Temporary folder (Automated method):
  1. Press WINDOWS ⊞ + R keys together to open the 'Run' dialog.
  2. Type Delete Temporary Files and press ENTER. This opens the 'Temporary Files' folder.
  3. Select Temporary Files (and any other temporary files you wish to cleanup)

Do you work with multiple sessions FAB3000 open?  If yes, try using the FAB3000 option "Allow Multiple Instances", https://support.numericalinnovations.com/support/discussions/topics/14000019581
