I am converting from BMP to DXF. Is there an option to reduce the amount of vectors/objects/nodes?

Yes, when exporting your DXF file, choose the Fill Option:  OUTLINES  (see below)

The will merge all adjacent objects to form one outer boundary that reduces the amount of vectors/objects/nodes.
