I've also tried ripping an embedded 3D model from a PDF, but the program does not appear to have imported any data (and saves a 1KB output), any idea what's happening there?

When importing a PDF file, ACE will only convert 2D vector objects (like Circles, Text, Polygon, Squares, etc.) and cannot convert "embedded images" or "3D Objects" in a PDF file. Here's a link to our standard guidelines when converting PDF or Postscript files:

Note: If you can save the 3D PDF file as a STEP or STL, ACE can then convert it.
