I want to make a high res bitmap 'picture frame' for a printer. I am starting with a DXF. How do I create this?

When performing a DXF conversion there are several things you can do..

1. If you are familiar with DXF and CAD tools like: AutoCAD, DraftSight, etc. -- The easiest would be to use SOLID HATCH.  Just hatch in AutoCAD the areas you want filled and then export to DXF -- ACE will do the rest.

2. Here's our guide lines for converting DXF and filling:

Note:  Essentially to fill a DXF boundary requires the following:
  • Boundaries must be closed and continuous.    During DXF Import check the layer option "Join" to perform this feature for you automatically.
  • During DXF Import check the layer option "Fill" to have ACE fill the closed boundaries you have created.
  • During DXF Import check the layer option "DeEmbed" to have ACE look for inner holes/islands within your filled boundaries, and make them clear.

Thanks again, and let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Simon
