Please create visual tutorial of a BOM import. Whats important is how to format the excel file before import if any. How to assign the designators in the BOM to the designators of the centroid list we are creating. And finally how to export x,y, designators, part #, description all back into an excel. Look forward to the tutorial.

Please view the following movie tutorial (no sound, and please see notes at the bottom):

Note:  Here's a great tutorial guide explaining centroid generation:

Notes from Movie:
TUTORIAL:  GENERATE CENTROIDS FROM GERBER, IMPORT BOM, and then EXPORT CENTROID
---------------------------

(1)  Import Gerbers

(2)  Assign Layer Types

(3)  Freeze Silk Layer

(4)  Build Components
* Start with high pin-count components first and work you way down to lower pin-count.
Note: For brevity I will only create a few components.

(5)  ASSIGN REFERENCE DESIGNATORS

(6)  IMPORT BOM
* Make sure to assign all appriorate columns and rows.  Use Right-Click to display the menu.

Note:  There were many RefDES not used because I didn't build all components.

(7)  EXPORT CENTROID
* Check the Part Number and other fields you would like.
