I am having trouble converting my AutoCAD drawing (attached in this e-mail) to Gerber. In the CAD viewer I see that the top layer gets mirrored so that somehow I have two parts instead of just one plate. This time I arranged my coordinates system to be close to the drawing. I used the settings you showed me in the last video.
So what could be the reason for this malfunction? And how to overcome it?
1. Avoid using Hatches when possible. If you query the Hatch you'll see internally it's origin is still 2453, -1568mm which is way out of the extents and causing problems during the conversion. Plus Hatches introduces duplicate data in your design because the outlined data which was used to create the design still exists.
2. Keep things simple. Just draw the outlines of everything you want on your design. Don't worry about the fill, ACE will take care of that during the Gerber conversion (see Fill and DeEmbed). See this quick tutorial movie:
Note: Remember in Gerber each DWG Layer is a Gerber file, so make sure each layer will appear how you want the final output to be.
