Yes we were trying to overlay the bmp into a 3D model part ( using Autodesk Inventor ). I created the STL file from the gerber but I may have selected the wrong options because the file is onle 1k and is empty.
So it didn't work. Talking to one of the mech guy, he seems to think that STL can only be generated from 3D model ? Not sure about this. The gerber used is the one sent previously.
The only reason you may of had trouble with the STL results, is that you need to assign a "Thickness" to the gerber layer you are converting.  Since Gerber is 2D it doesn't have a relevant thickness, but 3D software tools require some type of thickness.

I have created a sample tutorial movie showing me converting your silkscreen to STL:

Note:  I deleted the title block as in many cases that can cause excess data to be converted -- which may not be necessary).  ACE 3000 supports full editing before the final conversion so it's pretty easy to do.
