Thank you for contacting us.

We've had one customer who stated ACE 3000 didn't run on their XP computer due to McAfee.  We were unable to duplicate this here, but maybe this will be helpful (see below)...

Our Windows XP "test-computer" is able to run ACE 3000 fine, so there is definitely something external that is causing the problem.  We will work to see if there is anything else on Windows XP that can cause a problem.

If possible can you let us know anything else about your Windows system setup, so we may duplicate the same problem here:  What virus protection software are you using?  Is there a Firewall setup?

Note: Our guess is that ACE 3000 is starting up fine, and then an external virus protection software or firewall is killing the execution.

thank you for your reply.

It seems your suggestion with the virus protection was successful.
After deactivating "avast! Internet Security V.6", I was able to start ACE3000 without failure
messages or any others problems.

I'm glad that you were able to get ACE 3000 running.  We'll need to find out why on Windows XP, virus protection software will kill ACE 3000 on startup.

The Problem was the MCAfee Virus Scanner.  McAfee told us to unregister a dll of the Virus scanner (SCRIPTSN.dll).  And now it works.

Note:  SCRIPTSN.dll is a Browser Helper Object (BHO) that runs automatically every time you start your Internet browser. On older Windows systems like XP it was possible for malware to pretend that it was SCRIPTSN.dll.  On startup ACE 3000 will attempt to access our web server to detect if there are any new updates, news, tutorials, or other helpful information.
